About Us
Farm 54 got its start on the tail end of the pandemic, when a small family on Boston's North Shore started thinking a little time out in nature would do them a whole lot of good.
So they decided to put the acreage behind their home to good use, working together on a project that would benefit the local environment and net them a sweet treat in the process.
Together, they built a 20-hive apiary in the backyard and began tending a massive community of bees year-round. Through the seasons, they learned the rhythm of the hives, watched the bees come and go, watched their garden thrive, and when the time was right, they began harvesting and extracting the rich, raw honey. They kept some for themselves and gave plenty away to family and friends. To their surprise, every time they told the story, people's ears perked up. Every time, they handed off a bottle, the recipient's eyes lit up. Many even suggested they start selling the stuff.
And the more folks they talked to, the more they realized: People were positively starved for the good stuff. Food made by people who care about what they're making, for people who care where what they're having comes from. No fillers. No additives. No preservatives. No junk. Just top-shelf, small-batch, farm-fresh local flavors.
The only problem is, once you start paying attention to that sort of thing, you realize just how hard it is to find. It's rarely front and center on the shelves at your local corporate grocery store, if you can find it there at all. More often than not, it's off the beaten path at small-town general stores, local farmer's markets, and roadside farmstands.
But stocking your pantry with the best homegrown ingredients and natural treats shouldn't require you to scour the internet for hours or trek all over creation every time you need groceries.
That's why we've converted our little farmstand into a deluxe storeroom of imported local flavors from all over the globe.
Because we've gone to the trouble for you, traveling far and wide to meet with local producers just like us and get their wares in everyone's hands.
